Real Slime with Bill Maher

Bill Maher started out as a comedian. The fact that he was one of the least funny comedians in America set him on the path to having two of the crappiest shows on television today. The first time I saw Bill Maher do standup on television, I decided to clean my toilets instead. The toilet brush was funnier than Bill Maher.

Last week's episode of Real Slime with Bill Maher featured a typical panel of guests guided to the left by that bastion of intellectualism, that well-qualified political scientist, that prominant thinker, Bill Maher: Failed Comedian. When being a failed comedian qualified one to speak with authority on socio-economic and political matters is unknown to me, but hey, Rosie O'Donnell did it and we all know what a rocket scientist she is. In any event, Bill's guests were John Ridley, Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), Fmr. Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-FL) and (via satellite) Mia Farrow and Seymour Hersh.

Let's examine for a moment the vast qualifications of Bill's guests to evaluate the credence and weight we should be giving their opinions in order to determine if they are in fact, worthy of our time, or if we should head for the toilet brush.

1. John Ridley - Wrote the cartoon Undercover Brother, the basis for the movie
2. Barney Frank - only claim to fame is for alledgely having a gay male prostitution ring run out of his house.
3. Joe Scarborough - Congressman, New Federalist, presently a talking head on MSNBC
4. Mia Farrow - famous for sleeping with Andre Previn and Woody Allen
5. Seymour Hersh - Leftist anti-war activist and general agitator, helped lose the war in Vietnam, hopes to do the same for Iraq.

Hrrrm, seems to me only one of the people on that panel has even an ounce of integrity worth our time, Joe Scarborough...of course, who do you think the rest of the panel and host Maher ganged up on an insured he spoke the least? Yep, Joe Scarborough. So out of the whole show, there was maybe five minutes of content actually worth watching. At least when I am cleaning the toilet, the toilet brush is worth my attention for the duration.
