By Reader Request - Shows that Don't Suck

I don't normally like doing this, because it goes against the basic idea of this blog, which is to point out tv shows that suck. However, a reader has repeatedly asked me to list the shows that I currently don't think suck so as to give you, the readers, a more complete perspective on my opinions.

I don't pretend to be some kind of knowledgable critic, journalist, or even a decent writer. I can only guess at the value of a more complete perspective of my opinions, which for the most part, most people probably think are crap.

God bless them for it, because that is what America is all about. It started with a bunch of folks telling the King of England he was full of crap, then a bunch of fascists over in Europe, then more fascists over in Europe and a monarch in the far east, then an authoritarian socialist state, and so on and so on. The unwritten subtext of the Declaration of Independance, the Constitution, and indeed the history of the United States is basically: "someone, somewhere is full of crap and we aren't going to put up with it anymore."

So here is my list of shows that currently do not suck, in no particular order, and of no particular value:

• Smallville
• Law and Order
• Law and Order: SVU
• Law and Order: Criminal Intent
• Stargate: Atlantis
• Jim Cramer's Mad Money
• The Dresden Files
• Mail Call
• How It's Made
• Joan of Arcadia
• American Chopper
• City Confidential
• Doctor Who
• Torchwood

Okay, so the last two are british and the last one hasn't even aired in the U.S. yet, but they do not suck, so I have listed them anyway. BTW, Doctor who has been on since 1963, making it the longest running TV show in history that doesn't suck.
